Kneipp facility Rauberplatz Egerkingen

Refreshing for body and soul: The Kneipp facility on Rauber-Platz, located between the Sternen restaurant and the Catholic church in Egerkingen.

Kneipp therapy is a natural healing method named after the German Sebastian Kneipp (1821-1897), which involves the body, mind and soul.

If you're not familiar with Kneipp therapy and pass by Rauber-Platz, you might look askance at the people who are treading water with their pants rolled up in the Storchengang. However, when you consult the information boards on site, you quickly find out what the facility is all about and what the medical background is. Treading water is said to stimulate the circulation, blood flow and metabolism, as well as toughening and strengthening the veins. The barefoot path, which involves walking over several natural surfaces such as grass, stones, sand and wood, strengthens the foot muscles and ligaments, relaxes the shoulders, reduces stress and can relieve headaches. And last but not least, the arm bath refreshes both body and mind and calms the heart.

The Kneipp facility is a recreational area. The facility may only be used by children under the supervision and liability of their parents.
The publicly accessible, free-to-use facility is open from April to October, as long as the weather permits.
